This candle lingers in the moment after everything has settled—when the fire is no longer roaring, but still alive in memory. Smoke from almost-burnt birchwood hangs in the air, dense and slightly sweet, softened by a trace of incense. A hint of rose threads through the haze, lifting it just enough to keep it from becoming heavy.
