  • Regular care: Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills immediately.
  • Protect: Use coasters, placemats and heat protection.
  • Avoid: Harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and excess moisture.
  • Coastal homes: Humidity and salt air can affect timber over time, so keep surfaces clean and dry.
  • Maintenance: Some pieces may benefit from occasional BeeSeal wax to nourish and protect the timber.

  • Regular care: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap when needed. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Spills: Blot spills immediately to help prevent staining or absorption.
  • Protect: Use coasters, placemats and heat protection. Avoid placing hot or heavy items directly on the surface.

  • Maintenance: Stone is naturally porous and may require occasional sealing to maintain its finish.

Rattan

Rattan Care & Maintenance

Our rattan pieces are crafted from natural materials, giving each piece its own unique texture, tone and character. With the right care, rattan can age beautifully and remain strong and durable for years to come.

Dusting & cleaning
Dust regularly using a soft brush, dry cloth or gentle vacuum attachment to remove dust from the woven surface. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and wipe gently. Allow the piece to dry completely afterwards.

Avoid excessive moisture
Rattan is naturally porous and should not be soaked or exposed to excessive water. Avoid placing rattan furniture in areas where it may be exposed to rain, splashes or prolonged dampness, as moisture can cause swelling, mould or weakening of the fibres.

Protect from direct sunlight
Extended exposure to direct sunlight can cause natural rattan to fade, dry out or become brittle over time. Position pieces away from strong, direct sunlight where possible.

Humidity & coastal environments
High humidity and salt air can affect natural rattan over time. For coastal homes, ensure good airflow around your furniture and avoid prolonged exposure to damp or salty conditions.

Handling & everyday use
Rattan is strong but the woven fibres can be damaged by sharp objects, excessive pressure or rough handling. Avoid placing heavy or sharp items directly on delicate woven surfaces.

Natural variations
As a natural material, variations in colour, texture, weaving and tone are expected. Small imperfections and changes over time are part of the natural character of rattan and are not considered defects.

Leather

Our leather pieces are crafted from premium, carefully selected leathers chosen for their quality, durability and ability to develop a beautiful natural patina over time. Each hide is unique, so variations in colour, grain and texture are natural characteristics and part of what makes every piece one of a kind.

Everyday care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and gently wipe the surface, drying immediately afterwards.

Spills
Blot spills as soon as they occur using a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the liquid further into the leather or affect the finish.

Protect your leather
Keep leather furniture away from direct sunlight, heaters and other heat sources, which can cause fading, drying or cracking over time.

What to avoid
Do not use harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, household cleaning products or excessive moisture on leather.

For coastal homes
Salt air and higher humidity can affect leather over time. Avoid prolonged direct exposure and condition your leather regularly to help maintain its softness and suppleness.

Ongoing maintenance
Always test any leather care or cleaning product on a discreet area first. Rotate and reposition cushions regularly to encourage even wear and help maintain their shape.

Rugs

  • Regular care: Vacuum regularly on low suction. Do not use rotating brush heads.
  • Spills: Blot spills immediately with clean, lukewarm water and mild detergent. Do not rub.
  • Even wear: Rotate the rug periodically to promote even wear.
  • Deep cleaning: Professional cleaning is recommended as needed.

Metal & Brass

Our metal and brass pieces are selected for their distinctive finishes and timeless character. Over time, natural changes in colour and finish may occur, particularly with brass, as the material develops a beautiful patina. These changes are a natural part of the material and add to the character of each piece.

Dusting & cleaning
Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For light cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly afterwards. Avoid excessive moisture.

Natural ageing & patina
Brass and other natural metals can change in appearance over time due to exposure to air, light and handling. A gradual deepening or variation in colour is natural and should be expected. If you prefer to maintain the original finish, gentle polishing may be used where appropriate.

Fingerprints
Fingerprints and oils from handling can be more visible on polished metal and brass. Gently wipe the surface with a clean, soft cloth to remove marks and maintain the finish.

Avoid abrasive cleaners
Do not use abrasive cloths, scourers, harsh chemicals, bleach or aggressive metal cleaners unless specifically recommended for the particular finish. These can scratch the surface or permanently alter the finish.

Humidity & coastal environments
Salt air and humidity can accelerate changes to metal finishes and may cause tarnishing or corrosion over time. In coastal homes, keep pieces away from direct exposure to moisture and salt air where possible, and wipe down regularly with a soft, dry cloth.

Please note: Natural variations, subtle changes in colour and the development of patina are not considered defects. They are part of the natural ageing process and contribute to the unique character of each piece.

Sculptures

Our sculptures are designed as decorative pieces and should be kept completely dry. Do not fill sculptures with water. Water can penetrate the material, causing it to weaken, crack or break.

Care: Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid soaking, excessive moisture and harsh cleaning products.

Important: These sculptures are not water-tight and are intended for decorative use only. Keep them away from standing water and prolonged exposure to moisture.

Amier Home Tableware

All Amier Home ceramic tableware is dishwasher safe, making it easy to clean and enjoy every day. For best results, avoid overcrowding the dishwasher and allow pieces to cool before handling.

Everyday use

Cleaning
For hand washing, use warm water and a mild dishwashing detergent. Avoid abrasive scourers or harsh cleaning products, which may affect the finish over time.
